The RSN is a real-time earthquake monitoring system in Costa Rica. It consists of a Seismological Center and a Volcano and Geophysics Observatory that are located in the Central and Eastern regions of the country, respectively. The main objective of this system is to transfer the information that is obtained from the measurement of the ground motion to the public through a simple and practical way.
The application allows the user to measure the ground motion of the Earth using a sensor that is located on the Earth's surface. It is a real-time system, in which the data that is obtained is transferred to a data center that is located in the capital district of San José. The user can access the application from anywhere in the country, as long as there is an Internet connection. The system has several functions, such as alerting the user to the existence of an earthquake, registering the magnitude and location of the event, and transferring the data that is measured to the user.
The application is also used for educational purposes, as it can be used by the students of the different universities that are located in the country. The application is used by the different universities, in which it is possible to register as a student.
